Daron is currently writing a new song cycle with Reg Huston for late 2027 premiere. Barbara Grecki and Daron are co-writing the screenplay for Hide and Daron is in pre-production for Virginie, a new opera film to be shot in Florence and Venice in summer 2027, and for a simultaneous staging and film shoot of New York Stories, which he will direct at Eugene Opera in winter 2027.
Daron has finished Torchsongs for a Pyromaniac, a cycle for bass-baritone Timothy Jones and collaborative pianist Scott Cuellar on words of Buck Ross. They will record it early in 2026.
Envoi, a tribute to Joseph Schwantner, for wind ensemble, will have its premiere over the next sixteen months by a consortium of fourteen college and conservatory bands.
I Hear America Singing is released to streamers on 15 September. It did extremely well on the festival circuit.
Daron’s memoir, Duet with the Past was released as an audiobook on all major platforms including Audible, in August 2025.
